The Foster Foundation prioritizes funding that addresses the values important to the Foster Family:

  • Advocacy for children, families, veterans, and seniors

  • Arts
  • Education

  • Food Insecurity

  • Land conservation

These guidelines outline the criteria and requirements for funding requests:

General Information

  1. Organizations requesting funding must be tax-exempt legal entities under IRS Section 501(c)(3).

  2. Organizations serving in areas where the Foster Family business, Foster Fuels, is headquartered will be given priority. Foster Fuels’ service area includes Central Virginia and Southside.

  3. Funding decisions will be communicated by email to the contact person named on the application.

  4. Please note that prior contributions do not guarantee future funding.

The following requests are among those that will not be considered for support/sponsorship:

-Routine Operating Expenses.

-Capital expenses.

-Debt Reduction.

-Organizations whose focus is outside the priorities of the Foster Foundation.

Understandably, the Foster Foundation cannot fund all requests received. Foster Foundation prioritizes funding that addresses the values important to the Foster Family.
